Castle
Remains of a Hellenistic fortification are preserved on the hill of Kastro, southeast of Tarsana. It is the acropolis of the island, a fortress that controls the port, the bay of Katsadia and other coves to the west and mainly the sea crossings, facing Patmos.
Ancient Gate in the area of Kouselio
At a short distance south of the settlement, to the right of the road that descends to Kouselio, before the church of Virgin Mary (Presentation of Virgin Mary) the remains of ancient buildings are found.
Mosaics in Saint Panteleimon and SaintTheologos
In the area of Katsadia, two kilometers south of the settlement of Lipsi, on a plateau overlooking the sea, the two hypostases church stands, dedicated to Saint Panteleimon and Saint Spyridon.
Early Christian church of Virgin Mary in Kouselio
The workshop produced commercial, two-handle, cylindrical, amphorae of medium dimensions, which bear on the main body the characteristic horizontal grooves.
Colombini Archaeological Site
In the area of Kampos, northwest of the port of Lipsi, on a plot of 5,000 square meters owned by D. Colombini, an excavation carried out between 2008 and 2010 revealed the ruins of a part of a craft facility for the production of amphorae.
Virgin Mary of Charos
At the northeastern end of the island, on an airy plateau, among groves and vineyards, the church of Virgin Mary of Charos rises. The monument belongs to the architectural type of the transitional cruciform inscriptions. Its floor plan could be characterized as slightly non-standard.
The festival of Virgin Mary of Charos
The church of Virgin Mary of Charos is located at the northeastern end of the island, on an airy plateau, between orchards and vineyards. The Byzantine monument, which belongs to the architectural type of the transitional cruciform inscriptions, houses the miraculous icon of Virgin Mary of Charos.
Nikiforio ecclesiastical and folk museum
The Ecclesiastical – Folklore Collection of Lipsi was formed in 1976 by the archimandrite originating from Lipsi, Nikiforos Koumoundouros.
